Miths and reality in cloud computing technology!

Mith:

Once I implement the cloud computing technology, my company will become dependent on one supplier and I will lose the control of my data.

Reality:

Our ERP system based on cloud computing technology is very flexible. You can even choose to install the application on your own server and data can be stored anywhere, including your network. We do not offer these services to control your business! We give the highest priority to your security data, but we don’t treat your company data as our own.

Mith:

My IT specialist job will disappear with the implementation of cloud computing technology.

Reality:

IT specialists are more important to their companies once they begin to use cloud computing technology. Companies will see cloud as an opportunity to make cost savings in hardware and software, but they will never eliminate the role of an IT specialist. You will continue your role in security, network management, integration, maintenance and infrastructure management. This technology will always require an IT specialist, because no one can understand it as well as you do. So your role will increase with the evolution of technology, just as it has happened so far. Your importance as IT specialist has continuously increased, not reduced.

Mith:

A cloud computing provider can’t guarantee data security.

Reality:

You should be aware of the fact that public data centers are the safest, but we can not guarantee security if your applications are bad configured and secured! Effort should be equal between us and the client. IT intervention is critical to ensure the success of a cloud solution. We take all the necessary security measures as a provider, but it will have no effect if your company’s security practices are not good!

Mith:

Only a small company can achieve savings by using cloud computing technology.

Reality:

The benefits of cloud computing technology applications are the same for all companies, unconditioned by their size.

Mith:

In order to implement a cloud ERP system I have to move all my applications in a cloud computing service.

Reality:

Moving an entire data center in a cloud is nearly impossible and not recommended. You need to identify the applications that have periods of intense activity. For exemple, an ERP system is indicated to be placed in the cloud. Why? Because you are working with a large volume of data, you need real-time reports, you want to access the system anywhere and anytime, you want to avoid installing kits, you want to improve your relationships with partners through a greater transparency of business and you want to get upgrades without paying extra.
